Refund policy

Refunds and Exchanges:
We cannot accommodate returns or exchanges for any reason as our merchandise cannot be resold. Please note that ALL sales are final. We are happy to troubleshoot, provide solutions, or educate on alternative uses of any products should you need advice. We strive to provide thorough product descriptions and ingredient information to help you make an informed purchase and we are glad to offer assistance prior to a purchase should you need it. 

Additionally, we are happy to provide general product guidance both prior to and after purchase, including troubleshooting for various skin concerns such as eczema or other issues you may be seeking support for. Our recommendations are for educational purposes only and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. We always encourage consulting a qualified healthcare professional for medical concerns.

Damaged or Incorrect Items:
If your order arrives damaged or you receive an incorrect item, please contact us at support@smearnatural.com within 72 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the issue. We will review the information and, if approved, provide a replacement or store credit at our discretion. Please note, packages exposed to heat during transport that result in melted tallow products are not considered damaged and are not eligible for replacement. Instead, we have a helpful Blog for restoring your SMEAR. 

Returned Packages:
Please double-check your shipping address at checkout. If an address is entered incorrectly resulting in a returned package, additional shipping must be purchased to resend the order once it is returned to us.

Missing or Lost Packages:
Packages shipped via USPS Priority Mail are insured up to $100 per USPS policy. Any shipping-related issues will be directed to USPS for assistance, as we do not provide coverage for lost packages without SMEAR Shipping Protection. USPS will reimburse for lost packages (up to $100), but it can be a lengthy process for reimbursement (up to 90-120 days).

If you would like expedited support or full coverage for loss, damage, or theft, we recommend adding Shipping Protection at checkout. (Please note- Shipping Protection does not always appear automatically when using Apple Pay or Shop Pay—it is only visible when checking out through the store.) Shipping Protection provides full coverage that USPS does not, and fast product replacement.

Subscriptions:
Subscriptions can be easily managed at any time, including pausing, skipping, or canceling, directly through your account on our website or via the email reminders sent prior to each renewal.

Subscription customers receive a reminder email before payment is processed for their upcoming order. Once payment has been processed, customers have 24 hours to contact us at support@smearnatural.com to request a cancellation and refund. After 24 hours, cancellation and refunds are not guaranteed and are dependent on where the order is in the fulfillment and shipping process.
