WHAT MAKES SMEAR DIFFERENT?

We’re 100% grassfed and grass finished to be exact. This is where the magic really happens inside of this special fat. Our tallow comes from a specific part of the cow and grass fed and finished cows have high levels of CLA (conjugated linoleic acid). This also makes our products gluten free because we don’t use cows given feed of any kind. When you buy meat in the store and it’s labeled organic, it just means they were fed corn or grain pellets that are organic. What you want to see is grass fed and grass finished (as grassfed just means it was given grazing time in ADDITION to feed).

I know what you're thinking. Beef fat, where? Ok, lets start with this. What is tallow?

It's purified and rendered fat from organic, grass-fed and grass-finished beef that's called suet, or the leaf fat surrounding the kidneys. It's loaded with healing properties that mimic the skins structure and it has been used for centuries to heal the skin. It's not new, it's just been forgotten about over the years with our obsession over modern advancements in the skincare industry-- often causing us to leave behind the natural remedies that far surpass anything we could whip up in a lab.

PACKED FULL OF BENEFITS

Tallow is packed full of benefits hidden inside all its grass-fed beefy goodness—blowing other creams and lotions out of the water by means of absorbency and immediate availability to the skin. It’s loaded with vitamins A, D, K, E, B12 and is known to fight off wrinkle producing free radicals which like to damage the skin. Tallow is full of the fats and lipids that are found in soft and supple human skin—making it a natural (and arguably, the best) moisturizer because of its ability to sink deep into these layers.

Grass-fed beef suet, in its sourcing of grazed foods, is loaded with CLA or Conjugated Linoleic Acid. This CLA is a major player in healing the effects of external damage, partnered with the direct absorbency of tallow’s bio-availability by skin.

When coupled with incredibly soothing and skin healing essential oils, tallow balm is a serious skin-dream. Pure essential oils will calm inflammatory issues in the skin; partnered with the antimicrobial and antibacterial properties of tallow, along with the anti-inflammatory properties of CLA and anti-fungal essential oils, tallow balm could very well be the best friend you’ve never had for skin conditions like acne, eczema and psoriasis as well as general skin moisturizing needs.
